Hand Prints

I've been thinking a lot about hands lately: Hands Off, Hands Up, Hands Down, Helping Hands, Clean Hands, Dirty Hands, Hand Held, Hands Free, Praying Hands, Hands Across America...

We will make a tracing of our hand(s) to either transfer and engrave onto styrofoam or cut out of cardstock to build a collagraph plate. We will be able to print on papers and tea towels, positioning the plates, even folding them into gestures or sharing our hands with other participants.

Maybe there can even be a group print: All Hands on Deck!

Hopefully we can leave our gloves, mittens and hand warmers home.

I absolutely love opening the studio so people can experience the workings of an etching press and the camaraderie of a printmaking studio.
